The Read and Share Toddler Bible is a great first Bible. The stories are engaging and the retelling of Bible stories along with the colorful art communicate God's Word clearly to small children with short attention spans. It includes 40 stories from both the Old and New Testament, along with a 60-minutes DVD with a number of computer-animated Bible stories. Stories from both the Old and New Testaments include all-time favorites ranging from Creation, Noah, Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, David, to Jesus' birth, miracles, death, and resurrection. The learning suggestions for parents are very good.

The Truth is the Light by Vanessa Davis Griggs
This story pickups up from the book Goodness and Mercy with the life of Pastor George Landris, his wife and Gabrielle Mercedes. Birmingham, Alabama is the scene of another book by Vanessa Davis Griggs. I love how each chapter begins with a scripture from the Bible. Clarence Walker was from Gabrielle’s past and he too turned his life over to the Lord but there is a catch. He is the son of Reverend Marshall Walker who is the pastor of Divine Conquerors and the arch enemy of Pastor Landris. This story brings all of the cliffhangers from Goodness and Mercy
Goodness and Mercy by Vanessa Davis Griggs
It has been along time since I posted to this blog but I have been reading all along.
This was my first book that I have read by Vanessa Davis Griggs and I must say this book is sooooo good. God is good!! Gabrielle Booker a.k.a. Gabrielle Mercedes was trained as a dancer by Mrs. Crowe when she was a little girl but one day Mrs. Crowe had a car accident and Gabrielle never found out what happen to her. Gabrielle was being raised by her aunt because her mother died at the hands of her father. Her life has been one disappointment after another until she is invited to attend Followers of Jesus Faith Worship Center. She was so moved by the sermon that she gave her life to Christ. The devil is a lie! Everything good in Gabrielle’s new life seems to be counterbalanced by attack after attack from the devil. Gabrielle has to decide between the temptation to go back to her old life or stand her ground and hold onto God's hand no matter what.

I Believe Bunny by Tish Rabe
This is an awesome book for people of all ages. The story is about a bunny who calls on the One and only who answer all prayers. When I began to read the story, I reflected upon my life and how an adult can relate with the trials and tribulations of everyday life. Bunny stood fast and did not run away from the rain.
The book has colorful pictures that children would like, capture their attention, and is a very easy read. The overall message is very inspiring and teaches the lessons that even a small person can make a different when you put your trust in the LORD.

Push by Sapphire
"Sometimes I wish I was not alive. But I don't know how to die. Ain' no plug to pull out. 'N no matter how bad I feel my heart don't stop beating and my eyes open in the morning." These are the words spoken by Clareece Precious Jones, a 16 year old teen about her life. This story is told from the point of view of an illiterate, brutalized teenager who is obese, and dark-skinned. The story begins with Precious, as she prefers to be called, talking about the second baby she is having.
It is bad enough she is pregnant for the second time by age 16 but what is more gasoline on this fire is the baby is by her father. Precious is hated by her father, mother, and classmates. Precious deals with her situation by envisioning she is watching TV to help overcome.
After being kicked out of I.S. 146 things began to take a change for Precious. She is encouraged to attend an alternative school named Each One Teach One. Here she meets a black teacher, Ms. Blue Rain, who pushes her to change with encouragement and inspiration. Ms. Rain challenges Precious to learn to read and write and improve her way of life. In Miss Rain literacy class, all students are instructed to maintain a journal and this is how readers will experience Precious' transformation. Her development and growth are astonishing in the short period of time we share her writings. Push is an intense work, both heartbreaking and frightening.
I’m your girl by J.J. Murray
I am a hopeless romantic that is why I selected this book and the book was based on a librarian another interest of mine. Diane Anderson is a lonely library clerk working in a public library in Roanoke, VA. She is described as a young lady with curves in all the right places who should be able to attract men but so far that has not happen. She spends most of her time at the library working the reference or circulation desk helping patrons.
Jack Browning is a widower who recently lost his wife and son. Due to his recent lost he has taken a leave of absent from his job as a teacher, does not shave, eat, or clean his home. He has become reclusive and only talk to people that are interested in purchasing his late wife’s yellow mustang car.
During the winter months in Roanoke, VA a chance meeting becomes the start of something wonderful for two lost souls. This story is told through the first-person of Jack Browning. This is a slow moving story that has humor and will leave you wanting more.
